Last December I travel with my girlfriend around India, Rajasthan and Kerala. If you are planning to travel to India, be prepare for an amazing country but also my advise is to prepare your travel really well. To define where to go is a challenge; this was our first step with the India Journeys, they gave us really good recommendation about the different places to visit according to our expectations and budget. We decided to book with them a package for Kerala, and travel in Rajasthan by our own, and I won’t recommend to travel in India without a travel agency, especially if you are planning to visit different cities, and it is your first time in India. In Kerala, The India Journeys organized for us a perfect romantic travel, with a professional driver, and really good hotels. New Mon, our travel agent, took care of everything including some train tickets for Rajasthan that I couldn’t book online, he also organized for us a romantic dinner in a fantastic place, the best romantic dinner that I have ever had.

We were travelling with The Indian Journeys for almost 2 weeks last September. They designed a complete tour around the South of India. The communication was really fluid. Hi New Mon, Happy New Year! I owe you a long overdue note of thanks for our trip to Jaipur, Agra, and UP in November 2013. That was my fourth trip to India, and you made it by far the easiest. Things don't always run according to plan in India, but with your coordination we had no unpleasant surprises. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide Mr. Sharma in Jaipur, but the real star of our trip was our driver, Manoj. Not only an excellent driver, he was friendly, reliable, and always knew where he was going. (That last bit is extremely important - I've gotten lost in so many cities in India because of a lack of signage and/or addresses. The fact that it didn't happen while in his car was amazing.) In February and March 2019, my wife and I spent our second amazing trip in India, courtesy of Newmon & his company, The Indian Journeys. This time last year, we had been in Kerala, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu on the trip of a lifetime: you may still be able to check out our review of that holiday on this website. This year, we wanted to visit Delhi, Agra & Rajasthan. Through email exchanges, Newmon put together another very special itinerary for us: we told him what we wanted and the places we wanted to visit, he made further suggestions, we built in rest days at wonderful hotels with swimming pools (Jagat Niwas in Jodhpur was particularly outstanding!) and we were accompanied throughout by Pawan, our driver, who proved knowledgeable, polite, obliging and, above all, he was a fantastically safe driver: he even took us to meet his family for chai on our way back to Delhi at the end of our tour! The forts and palaces of Rajasthan were truly awesome: yes, the Taj Mahal does take your breath away, no matter how many times you’ve seen it on TV or in photographs; the Amber Fort at Jaipur is staggeringly impressive despite the tourists (mea culpa); the camel ride to see the sun set in Jaisalmer was another highlight; a homestay with Parvati and Sudhir & their wonderful children in the Padmini Haveli in Chittorgarh is a must for anyone travelling into the west of Rajasthan - it’s the only place within the fort where you can stay and it is soooo peaceful: we were the only people in the Palace on Sunday morning, apart from the security guard at the gate! Throughout our trip, Newmon would call us in the evening to make sure everything was running smoothly - he even flew from Kochi to Delhi to have dinner with us on our final night...this level of personal service is - in our experience - unsurpassed anywhere. The cost of the holiday was much less than we would have had to pay for a tour group holiday of similar duration arranged from the UK, and the fact that we had our own air-conditioned car & English-speaking driver, personal guides at each location and the highest quality of service all speak for themselves. Having just returned from a fabulous trip to Kerala, I have no hesitation in recommending The Indian Journeys and Mr Newmon. As part of our trip, The Indian Journeys organised a weeklong tour to experience the tea plantations and spectacular scenery of the Western Ghats, the spice plantations of the Cardamom Hills, elephant riding and bathing (great fun) in Thekkady, and luxury cruising in a houseboat on The Backwaters. From the first contact following our enquiry, right through to end of our trip, the service provided by Mr Newmon was exceptional. A brief call from Mr Newmon each evening to check all was going well was one example of the attentive service The Indian Journeys provide. When our itinerary was disrupted by a local strike, Mr Newmon calmly and quickly contacted drivers and guides to readjust our itinerary to ensure we didn't miss out. Our driver was very experienced, polite, punctual and helpful and the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. You'll be in very safe hands if you use The Indian Journeys.

What a wonderfully relaxing time New Mon (The Indian Journeys) organized for us in Kerala – starting at the friendly Kochi Fort House where we experienced amazing meals, the Chinese fishing nets and site seeing experiencing delightful tuk tuk rides. From here to the Deshadan Backwater Resort before an enchanting overnight’s stayed on a house boat where we purchased fish that the crew prepared for our dinner. Then to the Marari Pearl for 3 nights (where we were upgraded to a room with our own pool) which gave us just what we needed - relaxation. Here we were able to wonder on the beach and mix with the fisherman while taking in the local atmosphere. All in all a time we will never forget thanks to New Mon’s thoughtful organization.
